What is on your agenda for the next few months of mostly good weather? Will you be heading out of town to see the sights? Stay for the summer festivals and activities or a bit of both? It’s a happy dilemma to have and though I complain about keeping everyone entertained, I do like a break from the same-y-ness of the school year.

I sent a list of summer activities once a few years ago. Here is a new list that reflects some more age appropriate pastimes for our family and some completely surprising diversions we have discovered over the years.

1. Lochside Trail – walk on the ferry in Tsawassen with your bike and then take a 2 hour easy bike trail into Victoria on the other side. You can stop for lunch and a break then head back all in one day.

2. Othello Tunnels in Coquihalla Canyon park hiking trails. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/coquihalla_cyn/

3. Canadians Baseball Game https://www.milb.com/vancouver

4. Summer outdoor movie night at Stanley Park https://vancouversbestplaces.com/entertainment/summer-outdoor-movies/stanley-park-summer-cinema/

5. Hell’s Gate Air Tram. I did this as a kid and was pleasantly surprised to do this activity again with older kids. Did you know, more water flows through this narrow section of the Fraser river than goes over Niagara Falls? http://www.hellsgateairtram.com/index.php

I wish you all a super summer filled with a few fun diversions from the usual day to day activities and work.
